New O.R. Suites

Smith Hafeli is leading a major renovation on the second floor of Buildings 2 and 38 at the Marion VA Medical Center to create three new state-of-the-art operating rooms (ORs) for inpatient surgical/endovascular and ambulatory surgical services. The project includes demolition of the existing recreation hall and kitchen areas to make way for the new OR suites and required support spaces, including PACU areas. Work includes complete general construction, as well as electrical and mechanical upgrades designed to meet the rigorous demands of surgical environments. Electrical scope supports all systems tied to the new OR and PACU spaces, while mechanical work provides critical infrastructure for HVAC, surgical air, and environmental controls—fully aligned with VA Design Guide standards for surgical services.
