Outdoor Fitness Area

Smith Hafeli prepared and constructed a specialized concrete slab for a new outdoor fitness facility at the Marion VA Medical Center. The slab was designed with proper grading to shed water and included poured-in-place rubber surfacing for safety and performance. Large foundations were installed to support the canopy system, and a new sidewalk was constructed to seamlessly connect the facility to the existing campus walkways. Following slab completion, Smith Hafeli installed government-furnished fitness equipment and the overhead canopy structure. Lighting for the fitness area was also provided, creating a fully integrated, durable, and accessible outdoor wellness space for VA staff and veterans.
