Replace Air Handler Units

Smith Hafeli was contracted to perform phased HVAC and electrical upgrades in the warehouse space of Building 16 at the Marion VA Medical Center. The project involved the removal and replacement of existing HVAC equipment, electrical panels, and associated gear, along with the installation of a VA-provided generator and transfer switch in the warehouse addition. Due to the critical function of the space, the project required detailed coordination with the VA’s Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) to maintain adequate airflow during construction and ensure all phases were completed within the designated timeline. All work was executed in full compliance with VA requirements, applicable codes, and construction documents.
