Replace Roof – Building 23

Smith Hafeli completed the removal and replacement of the roofing system on Building 23 at the Marion VA Medical Center. The project included full demolition and disposal of existing roofing materials, insulation, and roof edge flashing in accordance with VA Master Specification 02-41-00. The new system features treated wood perimeter nailers, two layers of 2″ rigid polyiso insulation (R-23.6), and a fully adhered EPDM membrane. The scope also included shop-formed metal roof edge flashing, penetration flashing, and proper termination into the existing gutter system. All materials and installation procedures were performed in compliance with VA Master Specification 07-40-00, ensuring long-term durability and performance.
